Once every 2 months, CFC and Panasonic Risupia will hold seminars on Skills for Parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1008\" height=\"756\" src=\"https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-653\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1.jpg 1008w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-80x60.jpg 80w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-265x198.jpg 265w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-696x522.jpg 696w, https:\/\/cfc.org.vn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/pana1-560x420.jpg 560w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1008px) 100vw, 1008px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this program,\nMs. Hoang Anh, the COO of CFC, shared with parents\nthe five following topics: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Sex education and misunderstandings<\/li><li>Why is sex education necessary?<\/li><li>When should parents start to educate their children about gender?<\/li><li>Age \u2013 what should they know  about gender?<\/li><li>\u201cAwkwardness\u201d situations<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Referring to \u201csex education,&#8221; people often think that it is telling children about the knowledge of physiology, sexuality and reproduction, family planning, etc. However, sex education is educating appropriate personalities based on gender and age of each individual. That is why the content of sex education should be gradually expanded along with the development of children. The main purpose of sex education is to build a healthy lifestyle in the relationship between the opposite sexes.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems like an academic term, but through the sharing of Ms. Hoang Anh, such sensitive topics become very fun and accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, to find a good answer for the question \u201cHow was I born?\u201d, you can show them a clip based on fun facts and science, as the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"D0dqXZaase0\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Em b\u00e9 chui ra t\u1eeb \u0111\u00e2u ??\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/D0dqXZaase0?start=52&#038;feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of parents would answer for the question \u201cWhen did\/do you start sex education with your children?\u201d is at the age from 3 to 7 years old, sometimes 10 years old. In fact, parents started sex education since the child was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From birth, differences in appearance could tell us that a baby is a boy or a girl. In addition, the way parents prepare for their child, for example, for boys, blue is often picked as preferable color and cars as toys; whilst, for girls, pink, cute bow, and princess are prefer. Those are very first gender \u201cconceptions.&#8221; Furthermore, the way parents treat children and the way the react to each other also send a vivid message. All of the things mentioned above take an important part in children&#8217;s education, which unconsciously imprint into the child\u2019s mind. Thus, this is the appropriate time to educate children about sex since parents even aren&#8217;t aware of what they are already teaching their children through family environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the \u201cWhat age \u2013 what should they know and how they know it?\u201d section, Ms. Hoang Anh presented the basic content of sex education based on the aged range:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Picture 1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally,\nlet\u2019s watch an interesting clip about teaching boys about \u201cprivate areas\u201d and how to protect the private area\nfrom potential sexually abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"-lL07JOGU5o\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Talk PANTS with Pantosaurus and his PANTS song #TalkPANTS\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-lL07JOGU5o?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Hoang Anh\nalso mentioned a number of children books to help parents introducing gender story in gently and friendly way,\nwhich is still based on facts and science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this program,\nthe set of questions about \u201cawkwardness\u201d situations were discussed as well,\nsuch as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mom, where do I come from?<\/li><li>I saw you two having sex. <\/li><li>Parents caught their children watching pornography<\/li><li>Parents saw the children while touching themselves or having inappropriate activities with their private areas<\/li><li>Boys saw a girl\u2019s private area, and then asked mom why they are different<\/li><li>Child asked parents why hairs grow on his\/her genital<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The program received many open sharing, concern and appreciation from parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is expected that in December, the CFC and Panasonic Risupia will have the incoming program to share with parents on topics of raising children aged 5 to 9 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Sunday, October 15th, 2017, the CFC and Panasonic Risupia Vietnam organized a talk show called \u201cWhen should we talk about sex with our children?\u201d This is one of the programs in Panasonic\u2019s series of activities to honor Vietnamese women, along with an opening program for the cooperation between Panasonic Risupia and CFC Vietnam.
